The WCW signings of Harlem Heat featured Sid Vicious of all people suggesting them to the company after discovering the brothers on the independent circuit. Booker T and Stevie Ray each trained to be wrestlers and decided to chase the dream together as the most violent family-bonding experience. Harlem Heat was the name used for the tag team after going by The Ebony Experience on the independent circuit. WCW renamed them Kane and Kole for a short while before realizing a change was needed.
Booker T and Stevie Ray became the names fans would find an easier connection to. The biggest boost for Booker and Stevie came after losing association with the other heels as sidekicks. WCW would push Harlem Heat to the top of the tag team division over the next few years. Other legendary duos like the Road Warriors, Outsiders and a few other teams would filter in and out, but those two remained the standard.
Booker and Stevie Ray got over to new levels with Sherri Martel and never looked back. Harlem Heat was always involved in the tag title picture and moved into babyface roles by the end of Competing on the road helped The Steiners hone the craft so that by the time they returned to WCW, they would be tougher to beat. The duo won the Tag Team titles a record ten times during their tenure with the company. While some of these reigns were short-lived, it never took long before they got their hands back on the gold.
However, they would only hold onto the belts for three days before Stevie Ray and Booker T got them back. Rick and Scott held the gold for a total of days compared to Booker T and Stevie Ray whose total reign comes to days. The first duo to ever hold both belts was the Midnight Express.
It was Booker T's second visit to the podium , but this honor cemented their legacy as one of the greatest tag teams to ever step foot in the squared circle. With both men in their late 50s, they continue to perform semi-regularly and capture Tag Team Titles from multiple companies. The Steiner Brothers would not be able to continue wrestling today had it not been for their legendary run in WCW, where they made a name for themselves as one of the best groups in the industry.
As per a report, Triple H's health is at a point that any further in-ring action is highly unlikely, with a final WWE match even questionable. He first discovered the world of wrestling when he rented Halloween Havoc and witnessed the Chamber of Horrors match.
