Potential is what honestly did this game in. It officially secured the "pay-to-win" formula to the wealthiest of players and makes it almost impossible for new ones to get anywhere unless they burn their wallet or get funded. Bosses that used to take entire parties to slay can be soloed, a player with enough potential can do over million damage That alone says something.
I do remember all those things and I share the opinion than things aren't all that great now, even though I, too, continue to play, even though I'm not into most of the things that are a "must" nowadays. It's a pity, because I do feel some things have changed for the better.
In my opinion, the problem is that the things that have made the game worse and harder for people who, like me, can't invest real money in the game, are a lot more than the good things.
I don't know. I agree. Potential definitely unbalanced the game and made it pay to win. I still enjoy it, but that was what made it a new game. Well, just watch every game on the market and you'll find one thing they all have in common. They became simple and easyier. When i first played maplestory i was 13 years old im now 25 and at the time, i could actually afford playing hours and hours and take the time to find people to play with.
Now a day? Not so much. As far i know you still need a group of people to do the latest content? Sound good enough, old content alway end up easy to farm someday. Most boss weren't accessible to the common of mortal in the early days of maple. It was kinda stupid at time how much time one had to spend. Monster Carnival was a breath of fresh air, but i've grown bored of it pretty fast though lol.
When NLC got released, i wasn't playing much anymore sooo yeah. I remember when they announced Aran and i was sitting in front of my PC for hours just to create my character and go at it. I guess there wasn't much anybody starting the game anymore and they needed a way to bring people back.
So yeah, the early days were awesome. But im pretty sure if they made it like it was back then. The game would be already dead. There just that much you can do with a 2D Side-scroller. The story telling never been all that awesome either. And i've never been much of the ''Social guy'' anyway, so it doesn't change much for me read the guild chat, ask to join, have fun.

I always saw FangBlade, curryishott, StarLightz, and other players were in the rankings. Thank you for creating MapleLegends and it really is nostalgic. If you seen me around, you would probably say, "What are you talking about? You're here already. MapleLegends is going to be my main server and I'm going to play it to the fullest.
The community here is too good, I went to look at other servers, and I had to quit at fucking level 10 cause I got bored of those servers. If pepper doesn't see this I think I'm good. Cancel X. Plus, if he has no life, then what does that give a person who's sitting around making fun of him for no reason without any knowledge of how he lives his life? User Info: theotterman. Sin Jackal, before we got 4th jobs, Dragon knights were perhaps the most overpowered 3rd job class, and Priests were one of the weakest 3rd job class, so naturally there is going to be a big gap made before we got 4th jobs.
I don't have a sig anymore. User Info: FaithInAll. User Info: NinjaDante. Fang laughs at everyone who calls him a no lifer. Look at porter, he has a busy life in college yet managed to get to a high level in a month. Nows hes I can see your fear; it surrounds you. I don't care what he laughs at, and honestly, I don't care about what he does at all.
I made a joke using a south park quote and a bunch of you sensitive little kids started crying about how playing an online game a lot doesn't make you have no life.
Afterward, I merely defended myself at the onslaught of blind, and poorly thought out reasoning. It's dillusional to think a top character in an online game has "a life". He just funnels the most time in to the game, which is what his level reflects. No matter how "wisely" you hunt, you cannot get very much faster exp than the next guy. Unless you hack of course. This is how every game online game works. The "top guy", has dumped the most time into the game. It's just how it is.
He might have "real friends", but that doesn't change the fact that he spends most of his waking hours on maple story every day. You tell me what qualifies as "no life", if that doesn't. Nothing must qualify as no life if that doesn't.
User Info: Insuevi. We suggest you take a break from Mapling. If I do that, I've obviously dumped more time into the game than FangBlade has. Am I higher level than him?
